Iran was on the brink of a popular uprising for change when the outbreak of war further intensified the situation. In the past two weeks alone, the Iranian regime has significantly escalated its repression, including the execution of at least 12 political prisoners. This alarming development has caused deep concern among the Iranian community in Australia regarding the rapidly deteriorating human rights situation.

In response, we have organised a joint rally in collaboration with Iranian and Australian organisations, including the Alliance of Political Parties of Iranian Kurdistan, Australian Supporters of Democracy in Iran, the Bill Crews Foundation, and the Association to Defend Freedom & Human Rights in Iran – Australia.
Saturday, 18 April 2026
Town Hall Square, Sydney
2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
This rally aims to demonstrate our united support for the democratic change in Iran and to urgently call on the Iranian authorities to halt all executions and human rights violations, particularly during this time of conflict.
We respectfully invite you and your community to take an active role by joining this important rally. Together, we stand against all forms of dictatorship whether monarchical or clerical and send a powerful message of solidarity, reinforcing the collective call for freedom, justice, and the establishment of a democratic republic in Iran.
This is a critical moment where united voices can make a profound impact. We strongly encourage your participation and support.
